Summary of Dumuria upazila : Khulna is divisional city of southwestern Bangladesh. Dumuria is the largest upazila of 09 upazilas of this district. According to the historian Satish Chandra Mitra's "History of Jessore Khulna", Dumuria was under the rule of Bharat King in the 10th century. The authenticity of the Bharat Vayana Bharar Bhairan in Dasu Daulo of Keshabpur upazila of Jessore appears to be true. In the middle of the fifteenth century in Dumuria, the propagation of Islam and Muslim rule was introduced. In 1984, an inscription was found in old crumbled stack beside an old pond in Arshanagar village of Maguraghona union. The name of Hazrat Shahfazal was found in that inscription. On the other hand, the zamindari of Haji Mohammad Mohsin was expanded in West Bengal and other areas of Bangladesh like Dumuria Magura Ghona, Atlia, Shovana, Kharania, etc. Another Muslim religion proponent, Shahjamal, is found in Andulia village in Dumuria.
